Well the countdown to the 2014-15 Ontario Hockey League season is officially on, as the schedule was unveiled Wednesday.
The 680-game slate will start on Wednesday September 24th, when the Kitchener Rangers head to Owen Sound to take on the Attack, while scouts and fans alike will get their first chance to drool over Connor McDavid during his draft year, as the Erie Otters stop off in Saginaw to pay a visit to the Spirit.
Both the Eastern Conference champion North Bay Battalion and Western/OHL Champion Guelph Storm open their seasons up at home on the first Friday of the regular season (September 26th), as they face off against the Barrie Colts and Belleville Bulls respectively.
The Ottawa 67’s and Niagara IceDogs will both be returning to new digs this year. Niagara starts their season with a short two-game road trip before welcoming in the Mississauga Steelheads to the brand new Meridian Centre, before the ‘Dogs take part in the 67’s unveiling of a revamped Lansdowne Park. Ottawa plays four games on the road before their first home date on Friday October 10th.
